- CHI'S STORY -
chapter one "the incident"
"WHAT?!?!" screamed jackie springs walking down the hall, "let me get this straight... you, jodie hills got asked to the prom by the bad ass, ryan cooper."
"yep" i replied happily "never would you have thought that i, jodie hills, would go to the prom with a guy who has a reputation."
we headed down to science. my good old friend cody stopped me before i headed inside.
"does jackie have a date for the prom?"
"i dunno, why dont you ask her?" i shoved him towards her.
"Jackie, do you wunna go to the prom with me?"
"Umm, sure Code-ster. ill go with you." she replied casually.
"awesome." he said, walking away happily.
the bell rang and every one took their seats. i have to sit next to Nick-the-hick. sll he does is make dinosaurs with his hands and blabbers on and on about his rock collection. you can call him one of those pocket protectors geeks. ashley, the prep, got up.
"is ashley 'bitch' whittman coming over here?" i asked jaxs.
"aw, hell no." she said angrily.
"Hello you kool kids." ashley said staring at my fish net shirt and parachute pants. "like the outfit" she said.
"thanks" i said quickly. ashley just walked away. "AARGH. lost some brain cells, ey?" i whispered to jaxs.
"ugh, damn cheerleaders," she said.
the bell rang. i went to jackies locker with her, she had to get her lunch. i saw 'hottness' ryan in the hallway. he gave me his casual nod, and a 'hey'. "i wasnt about to faint... i swear!" i said.
"good lord" jackie said eying up ryan as we walked away.
i didnt feel like buying lunch so me nd jaxs just sat down at our usual table with dan, my best guy friend, rachel, bob, jean, joe, and others. we all ate and talked. thats what you usually do at lunch. NOT TODAY. we had to put up with shit like getting food thrown at us, and other shit like that. the reason for the torment is because dan is gay.
"forget about them." i said to dan. "they're assholes."
"im trying jode, but it aint working." he said. he seemed hurt more then re-assuring. i wanted to help him more, comfort him. but he doesnt want help.
the day went on. another bad day for dan. me and jackie were walkign down the hall and there was a crowd around dans locker. big letters spelled out HOMO on it.
"they cant let go of the fact that dan is gay and wants to be that way." we went to math. i was thinking about it the whole period. i wante dto tell everyone my secret. the secret no one knew. not even my two best friend, dan and jaxs. i stared at the balck board thinking. 'how would they feel... would they still be my friends? what would they be like around me?' i stared and thought until some one tapped me.
"the bell rang jodie." mr. johnson said to me.
i got up and when to the library. i didnt feel like going to spanish. i went there to think some more.
"DING DING DING" 'yay, home' i thought. i was getting my shit together and i heard a "JODIEE!" so i turned and it was jackie.
"you wernt in spanish"
"i went to the library"
"why?"
"to think"
"about...?"
"jackie, can i tell you later?"
"aight."
i went to an empty house called home. no one there. 'big surprise' i thought to myself. i have both parents, and an older brother. his name is pete. he's really awesome. hes some one you can run and talk to about anything. hes usually home but i guess not today. jackie has a crush on him. hes punk tall and 'sexi!!' as jackie likes to say. i fixed my self some easy mac and went to bed around 11. but before i went to sleep i wrote in my book. my oh-so-sacred book. it has everything in there. everything. when i was done i put some tunes on and fell asleep to blink.
the drops of rain they fall all over

chapther two "letting it out"
"morning jode-ster!" screamed pete.
"brother of mine, who i adore and love the most will give me 5 more minutes?" i said as i got back under the covers.
"no....." he said as he pulled off the covers revealing my duck underwear.
"PETE!" i screamed as i got the blanket back up. "im up, im up!" i said angrily. downstairs i fixed my self some cornpops and orange juice. staring at my cereal i was thinking whether i should tell jackie my secret or not.
"whats up jode?" pete asked, looking at my cornpops cause i hadnt taken a bite.
"nothing" i said.
"scared that a monster will come out and eat you?" he said teasingly.
"shut up pete, im tired." i wanted to tell him what was the matter. i wanted to tell him my secret so fucking bad. the words would not escape from my mouth. i finished up my cornpops, got dresses and headed for the door. pete caught me on my way out.
"jode, you know you can tell me anything right?"
"yeah..." i replied.
i stared at each and every crack on the side walk as i headed toward school. i decided to tell jackie. i was glad that i didnt have a feeling that i shouldnt. the morning started off with me almost getting hit by a bus. you know what? that was alright. i headed toward my locker and waited for jackie.
"hey jaxs"
"hey jode"
"member that thing i was gonna tell you....?"
"yeah..."
"alright, well, uhm, im, uuhhh, bi."
"really?? omigod. me too! i wanted to tell you before."
"heh, i was deciding whether or not to tell you"
"im glad you did."
"same."
im glad she didnt freak out on me. she confessed that she was bi too and i was a little shocked and happy all the same. especially cause i wasnt alone. i had jackie rigth by my side. "woo" i said in relief.
"whu?"
"that was a little late wasnt it?"
"yeah..."
we went to science. walking down the hall was a bit different though. first walking around we were straight punk weird girls. now we were bi, punk, door opening both way, kinda girls.
"seat change" mrs. red said.
"yay! no more 'nick the hick' sitting next to me!" i said happily.
"jodie, jackie, cody." mrs red said as she pointed to three desks in a row.
"shnapp. awesome seating arrangement!" i said.
mrs. red started her lesson on rocks and minerals and crap like that. me and jackie decided to pass notes the whole time. no talking for us, since Mrs. red's a dick and detention's for anyone who talks.
"note time" i said quietly.
me- ugh this class is so gay
j- tell me about it.
me- so whats up
j- thinking.
me- oo, about?
j- hmm, do you like me?
me- as a what?
j- more than a friend
me- i dont like you i swear! *looks around*
j- i dont like you either, i swear!
me- hey thats my line!
j- mine noww!
CAUGHT... Mrs red was like, "girls, no note passing in my class. throw it away at once." she sternly said as she gave us both the evil stare.
"bitch" i said under my breath. jaxs laughed and the bell rang. we headed down to lunch. we found dan and told him about our found out secret. he was happy that he wasnt alone either.
"yay, we didnt get abused today at lunch!" i said to jaxs.
"you spoke to soon, jode." she pointed to dan by the trashcan. he got milk dumped all over the front of him.
"god, assholes!" i raised my voice to jaxs. we went and helped him get cleaned up.
math, i always think in this class. i sit in the back and im totally lost and im like screw it, and i just think. i thought about how me and jaxs are bi, and how we have a bit of feelings for one another. 'it might change' i thought, 'maybe our relationship will go farther. we have more in common now. we can even talk about guys and chicks. maybe, me and jaxs could even go out. maybe, just maybe.' bell rang. i actually heard it. time to move on to spanish. couldnt miss another class of spanish. i dont stare at this hott girl sam, i swear!
"hey jaxs..." i said as she entered the room, "what do you think of sam?"
"damn hott!" jaxs replied.
im glad im hawaiian and spanish, this is the only class i understand. "buenas dias senora smith" i said proudly.
"beunas dias senorita" she replied.
"oh whos good?" i boasted to jaxs.
with an evil stare she said, "its only cause your hispanic!" she yelled.
bell rang, spanish always goes by so quickly. my favorite class. jackie's coming over my house today. shes staying the whole weekend because her mom and her fiance are going out of town. we gathered our shit together. "shall we?" i asked linking my arm with hers.
"we shall." we walked like that the whole way to my house.
"here we are... 21 midnight moon trl."
chapther three "weekend"
we went inside my house and again no one was home. we ordered pizza. "hey jer, one pepperoni pizza please."
"coming right up jode."
i know the pizza guy cause i order from there alot. while we waited for the pizza i called dan. "hey get your ass over here" i said to the phone.
"kinda busy, some ones over..."
"thats ok, the more the merrier."
"alright, be over in a bit."
about 10 minutes after i called him, he and the pizza showed up. dan payed for it.
"hey thanks!"
"no prob." he said casually.
i almost forgot there was a stranger in my house. "hey dan is that your boyfriend?" i asked teasingly.
"yea, his names john." he said sorta shyly.
"hey john.." i said with a suprised look on my face. i hit jackie caus her jaw was opened. she and i didnt see that one coming. we ate pizza and talked and found out some things about john. when we were done i shouted, "movie time! what do you guys wunna watch?" as i showed them my movie collection. i made some popcorn and popped in the movie. we watched about half of it but no one was really paying any attention. me nd jackie were having a popcorn battle and dan and john were having so much fun. yeah, they were making out in my house. "dan," i threw some popcorn on him and he looked up.
"whuu?"
"OUT! make out at your own house, not mine!"
"i see how it is" he pouted "ruin me nd johns moment." he headed for the door, "its late though. we should go"
"nightt you two." me nd jaxs said our good byes to them. we decided to finish up the movie. she grabbed for my hand and held it. i stared at our hands, intertwined. to myself i was arguing, 'is this really happening? yes jode. me nd jaxs are having a moment.' the movie ended at about 11:30. "upstairs, shall we?" i grabbed her hand this time and we went to my room. 'creak' went my bed as we sat on it. we sat there and talked. about everything. talked until one in the morning. we had some moments where we just stared at each other. a moment when you just know what to do but are afraid. 'you know you want to kiss her jode' thinking to myself again. 'just do it' she moved in and our lips touched. when it ended i wished it didnt. it was one of the best moments i have ever had. i felt like i was on a cloud, floating. we both layed back, reminicing what we had just done.
"gives you a rush, ey?" jaxs said to me.
"yea" i said, heart still pounding. she grabbed a hold of my hand and we fell asleep. side by side. hand at hand. 'i love her so much' i thought to myself. morning came and she was up before i was.
"wakey, wakey my eggs nd bakey!" she said loudly.
"im up i swear!" i said as i layed still on the bed.
she jumped on me, "wake up my love!"
"noo....."
"YES!"
we argued until i finally gave up and got up. we wemt downstairs and ate some breakfast.
"yumm, waffles" she said as she syrupped her waffles.
"yum, cornpops" looking at her with a face that says, yea mines better. pete came down and joined us.
"oh wonderful pete, you will give me and jaxs a ride to the mall today right?" i said this with puppy dog eyes.
"sure, right after work." his work ends about 2.
"thanks a bunch!"
"ill be here about 2:15 to pick you guys up. make sure youre ready."
"iight"
we watched some tv until lunch time. "beeep beeep beeep" the microwave said. "EASY MAC! yuummm." at 1:30 we got ready. we had to get out of our jammies. pete came on the dot. "thanks pete, call you when were done." i said to him as we got out of the car at the mall.
"behave." he told us. and he drove away.
first store we hit was hot topic. "ooh, hottness. i want!" i said, staring at a pair of black and teal pants. i got a red fish net shirt, the hott pants, and the newest yellowcard cd. jackie got grover socks, the evanescence cd, and a few new shirts. "hungry?" i asked as we left hot topic.
"yea" jaxs agreed.
"chinese food?" i grabbed her hand and rushed over to 'wok 'n roll'. we ordered and got our food. we sat down and saw some 'kool kids' from our school. i took out my hott nokia phone and called pete. we went back home and pete left yet again. we watched some movies on tv and fell asleep on the couch together. i woke up to my phone ringing. it was dan. "hey" i said half awake.
"wunna chill at the movies tonight with me, john, rach and others?"
"sure, why not?"
dan picked us up and off to the movies we went. seating arrangement went as follows - jaxs, me, rach, dan, john. "bathroom time" i said to jaxs. we left in mid movie. 'my turn' i thought as i leaned in to kiss her.we had another special moment. wasnt the most romantic place but you know what, screw it. we went back to our movie, along cam polly.
rach asked, "what took you so long?"
"long line..." i lied to her looking at jaxs with a smile. we went home around 11 and fell asleep on my bed.
sunday we went to church, by force. then we came ome and jaxs had to pack her stuff and leave around 1.
"one more real quick" she said and she leaned in. another moment, and the door went, "KNOCK KNOCK"
"damn" i said and jaxs left. i layed on my bed and thought. thought about how great my weekend was and about how much i love jaxs.
chapter four "revenge"
"the weather is sunny today. i high of 75." my alarm clock said to me. i wasnt very hungry so i just took a shower, got dressed and headed out the door. we have gym now. "ugh" i said to jaxs as we changed for some fun P.E. not.
"gym sucks ass." she said as we walked outside to the foot ball field.
"two laps!!" ms goober said.
"lets not and say we did." i pulled jaxs behind a tree. the other girls ran their laps as we sat in the shade. as they were going to the foot ball field we decided to join them.
"hills" ms goober said.
"present!" i said laughing as i saw the fat girl huffing and puffing because she ran. we all got down and dirty. "lets go" i said to jaxs picking up some mud in my hand. we walked over to ashley and her crew. "looking a bit clean there?" i threw the mud at her, face mostly.
"bitch!" she yelled.
"oh what a come back"
gym was over and so we went in and got cleaned up and changed. then it was on to science. we did a few labs with partners. mine being jaxs, ofcourse. science was over before i knew it and i found dan and told him about my awesome weekend.
"jode, thats so hott, but i saw it coming." dan said.
im kind of glad that john didnt go to our school. if he did they would get beat up and critisized more. "no beating today" i said after lunch was over.
"no preps!" dan said. he explained to me that they went some place to get 'real food'.
"we should try that some time."
the day went unbelieveably slow. finally we got to go home. "by jaxs, call you tonight" i said and hugged her goodbye. i saw cars in the drive way when i got home. 'must be pete's friends.' i thought.
"hello jodie." my mother said sitting next to my father as i came in the kitchen.
"hey, your home." i commented.
"how was your day?" asked my father.
"boring.... i got a shit load of homework to do. bye." i hurried up the steps with some cheese in hands for a snack. after i was in my room i retrieved my phone from my back pack. 'RING RING' the phone went as i waited for someone to answer.
"hello?"
"hey, is jackie there?"
"shes not in right now, jodie is that you?"
"yea, tell her to call me please."
"alright" and she hung up.
i finished up my homework and fell asleep. "HOLY JESUS!" i said as i awoke to vibration under my ass. i pulled the phone out and answered it. "hey" i said to jackie. looking at the clock i was surprised. "wow! its 1:12, why so late?"
"im just calling you back, from earlier." she sounded wide awake.
"well im tie-erd, and ill talk to you tomorow. love you." i said half asleep.
"night hon, love you." she disconnected.
i couldnt sleep after that. i kept thinking about jackie. "she loves me." i said out loud as i got up to turn off the lights. i woke up to the trash can people. "SHIT!" looking at the clock that said 8:22 i was wayy late. "fuckkerr. im late!" i got dressed and ran to school. straight to the attendance office. "jodie hills" i said to the secretary, as she wrote me a late pass. 8:51 said my late pass. i had missed half of science.
"why are you so late?" jaxs asked me.
"forgot my alarm." i answered, fixing up my hair. bell rang. "lunch time" i said to jaxs.
chapter five "room"
Dan and i were talking when some preps came up to us.
"hey, jode" ashley said to me.
"uh, hey!" i said back to her.
"i heard that you and jackie were bi.."
"uhm, yea. is that a problem?"
"no, no problem at all..."
"hah, damn right"
"bye, you lesbian"
"bye, you slut."
"PWNED." said dan.
"dan who did you tell??" i said angrily.
"not many people, dont hurt me!" he said, acting afraid.
"heh, i cant hurt you, dude, your like twice my size." i said looking up at him.
"hah, i know" he said with a smirk.
jackie and i walked down the hall way and we got lots of stares.
"w.t.f.?" i said to jaxs.
"they just think we're weird because we're bi" she said. she grabbed my hand.
"we're gonna show our bi-ness"
"damn straight. or bi, rather." we both laughed down the rest of the hall.
we got more looks but you know what? i didnt care. they shouldnt care either. its our feelings. the rest of the day was alright. me nd jaxs got quite a few more stares. and more questions too. screw it. not like we should hide it. its what we want to be. jackie and i stayed after school in the library so we could work on our spanish project. we sat at the table talking the whole time.
"closing time girls." said the ancient librarian.
we got our shit together and waited in the lobby. jackie had her arms around me. it felt good to be held like that, to be loved. i saw a blue car come up. "bye jaxs" i said as i gave her a hug.
"need a ride since its raining?"
"sure" i said as i climbed in the car.
"do you mind if we go to the grocery store first?" ms springs asked me.
"oh fun" i replied.
me nd jaxs got a cart. "an adventure!" i said as i pushed jackie in a cart.
"ow my ass!" she said laughing. we were riding through every isle.
"people are staring!" jackie said.
"haha, let them stare!" i pushed her even faster.
"girls time to go." said ms springs as she saw us flying down an isle.
we went to the car. 'ugh home' i thought. i layed my head on jackie's shoulder and held her hand.
jaxs must have read my mind because she said, "hey mom, can jode come over?"
"sure honey" said ms springs.
"yay!" i said and squeezed her hand.
we went into her big huga mansion house. i almost got lost in there once. she has her own bathroom. it's HUGE. we sat on her bed and did some homework.
"hungry?" she asked.
"sure" she grabbed my hand and we went downstairs.
"yum, spaghettie." jaxs said.
"oh, my fave." we sat and waited for every one, and then we said grace. i never usually have dinner as a family. jackie has divorced parents. she lives mostly with her mom and soon-to-be-stepdad. she also has 2 little half brothers. atleast at her moms. at her dads house, its a whole nother story. lets just say 5 kids under 7yrs old. 'thank god they all dont live in this house' i thought to myself. after dinner me and jaxs were in her room again, listening to blink and doing more homework. i didnt feel like doing mine so i layed down. my head on her stomach. i could hear the soft heart beats drumming against my ear. the room was getting darker. i dont really like the dark, but with jackie it seemed nicer. i stared at the clock wishing minutes would not pass. wishing we could stay at this moment. wishing i wouldnt have to go back to my empty house, unsafe. we fell asleep. 'knock knock' went the door.
"yea?" jackie asked.
"jodie needs to go home now" jaxs mom said.
we got our shit together, hugged and which seemed like forever. i didnt want to let go. we kissed and then her mom knocked again.
"girls come on." she said.
we rode in the back of her moms van. we got closer and closer to my house. "i dont want to go." i said to jackie.
"i dont want you to either."
i got out of the car, and went inside. my mom was on the couch sleeping. "mom im home." and i headed for the stairs. she nodded at me and thats all. i wish my mom was kind of more like a mom. she seems like she doesnt worry about me. she probably doesnt even remember my birthday. "ugh" i said as the books in my backpack stared up at me. "damn homework" i proped my self up on my bed and fell asleep yet again. 'drop drop' said the rain on the window. "1:41" the clock read. i set my alarm to 6 am and went back to sleep.
chapter 6 "moving on"
"school again?" i said to myself as i turned off my alarm.
